Will I really need to know this?

I get this question a lot.

Sometimes it’s while I’m teaching Negative Adverbials for Emphasis.

Sometimes it’s about some obscure idiom.

Many times it’s while covering the Third or Mixed Conditionals.

My answer is this: YES.

“But how often will I actually use this?”

Well, that’s up to you. I don’t know. What I do know is that natives use all of these complex grammar forms all the time, without even thinking twice about it (or knowing the name of the structure they’re using).

So yes, you should learn each and every thing you can, because you never know where it might come in handy.

Once you know these complex structures, you will likely start hearing them more, too — in meetings, in movies, etc.

The reality is, they were there all along, but you may have been ignoring them because they didn’t quite fit into your personal grammatical structure.

At P. City English, I work with students to expand their possibilities by challenging their current habits. I push students to be able to understand more and express themselves more effectively.

English can be complex. But you can handle it.
