Business English for

Business English for IT and tech teams.

Many of my students work in tech: developers, CTOs, project managers, founders of software agencies. They usually know the technical vocabulary better than I do.

What's harder is everything around it, like explaining a delay to a client, pushing back on a deadline, running a meeting, or explaining a technical decision to someone who isn't technical at all.

What we work on

The English that happens around the code.

  • 01

    Stand-ups and team meetings

We practice giving a clear update in under a minute and jumping into a discussion without waiting for the perfect moment (it never comes).

  • 02

    Clients and non-technical people

You'll learn to explain what you built and why it matters, without the jargon, to people who just want to know if it works.

  • 03

    The difficult conversations

We practice saying no, negotiating scope and timelines, and explaining a bug or a missed estimate - politely, but clearly.

  • 04

    Writing

We work on tickets, documentation, Slack messages and emails that are short and easy to understand on the first read.

  • 05

    Moving into a lead role

When you go from writing code to leading people, the English changes too - you give more feedback, present more often, and spend more time convincing people.

  • 06

    Your own mistakes

I write quizzes from the mistakes you make in class, so the corrections actually stick. Here's one I made for a CTO, one for an e-commerce developer, and one for a SaaS project manager.

I won't teach you what a pull request is, because you already know that. What I will do is make sure that when you explain one, or anything else, in English, people understand you the first time.

If your company has a training budget, I can invoice your employer directly. If you want to warm up on your own, try the daily stand-ups and negotiating scope and timing topics in my warm-ups.

We build the classes around your meetings, your clients and your projects instead of generic textbook topics.

  3. Practice

Classes are 1-on-1 on Google Meet and cost $50 for 60 minutes. Every correction goes into our shared class document.
