English for job interviews.

A job interview is one of the hardest places to speak a second language. You're nervous, someone is judging every answer, and the words you knew perfectly well yesterday are suddenly gone.

I help you get ready for that, so on the day you can think about the job and not about your English.

What we work on

Everything from the first handshake to the last question.

  • 01

    "Tell me about yourself"

It's almost always the first question, and it sets the tone for the rest. We'll build an answer that sounds like you and not like something you memorized the night before.

  • 02

    Talking about your experience

We practice talking about your projects, your results and the numbers behind them. Small slips here (tenses especially) can make strong experience sound weaker than it really is.

  • 03

    The hard questions

Your weaknesses, a gap in your CV, why you're leaving your current job - we practice these until they stop being scary.

  • 04

Small talk and your own questions

The few minutes before and after the "real" interview matter more than people think, and so do the questions you ask at the end.

  • 05

    Salary and the offer

Negotiating in English is its own skill. We'll practice how to talk about money politely, but without leaving anything on the table.

  • 06

    Mock interviews

I play the interviewer, for the actual role you're applying to. Afterwards we go through what worked, what didn't, and what to say instead.

Benjamin Pfeifer

I studied business and did my MBA in the US, so I know what interviewers are listening for, and it's not perfect grammar. They want to hear that you can explain clearly what you did and why it mattered.

If you have an interview date, tell me in the consultation and we'll plan the classes backwards from that day. If you want to warm up on your own first, try the job interview questions in my Business English warm-ups.

How it works

Three steps, and the first one is free.

  1. Book your free 30 minutes

We talk about the job, the interview date, and where you feel weakest right now.

  2. Send me the job description

You can send your CV too, and I'll build the classes around the role you actually want.

  3. Practice

Classes are 1-on-1 on Google Meet and cost $50 for 60 minutes. Every correction goes into our shared class document, so you can review it before the big day.
